6 East is an acoustic guitar duo, founded by Jonathan Soucy and Todd Nickerson and based out of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Recently PJ Justice has been joining us on Upright Bass and it has been great to have his talent and experience on-stage with us.

Jonathan (Guitar, Vocals) - originally from Rowley, MA and currently lives in Plymouth, MA.
Todd (Guitar, Vocals, Harmonica) from and lives in Barnstable, MA.

Both Jonathan and Todd took up guitar and singing/songwriting in their early twenties. They were influenced along the way by music ranging from Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, and The Grateful Dead to Jack Johnson and many other artists in between. Ten years later, when their paths crossed, both had been “living the dream” - tending to careers and families while fitting in music whenever possible. In 2006, Jonathan and Todd began to write and record songs under the name 6 East, playing regularly at Cape Cod and South of Boston area venues. 

Their debut album, “Living the Dream” was finalized in September 2011. Thanks go out to Rob Loyot at Noise in the Attic Studio for recording and producing the ten song album with help from Sean McLaughlin at 37' Productions.

Behind the Band Name

Once the longest highway in the country, Route 6 is a historical trans-continental roadway that runs from California to Cape Cod. Those looking to travel across it today would find a series of back roads that wind through the heart of the country.

The band 6 East is aptly named, as Todd and Jonathan aren’t looking to be on the main highway and find more character on the back roads of Americana music.
